Stéphane Gérin is one of the great hopes for French Poker. Nothing suggested he would ever become a Poker pro until he played and realised he had a talent.
Until August 2007, Stéphane worked in a restaurant in Marseille, the town where he lives, until the day came when his passion for cards was greater than his interest in working in catering.
From September 2007, Stéphane Gerin focused on the game and became professionnal, to the delight of Poker770, where he played his first games online. And the young Stéphane was quickly noticed for his performances, whether online or live. In January 2008 he was named best player in France by the famous web site Pocketfives®, thanks to his many victories.

Poker770, as a talent spotter did not miss out on this chance. The man from Marseille quickly joined Team770 and had the pleasure of playing his first tournament in team colours live in Denmark, at the 2007 Copenhague EPT.
This was not Stéphane Gérin's first attempt at a live tournament, he has before and since Copenhaguen participated in numerous competitions and won some big games. Big wins include his victory at the $500+$40, at the Bellagio in Las Vegas on the 29th of October 2007 or his 4th place at the «Avalanche» tournament in Greece, where he won $74,000 from an initial fee of just $10.
From his online performances, Stéphane Gérin has, since last September, qualified for other prestigious tournaments such as the prestigious Masters Classics in Amsterdam, the Austrian Open in Bregenz, the Spanish Open in Alicante, the ECPT in Madrid or even the final of the Partouche Poker Tour, which is in next September in Cannes.
Here is the perfect example of a player which, thanks to Poker770.com, has learned how to become a presence in the world of pro poker, winning big sums of prize money from small investments and becoming a poker globe-trotter.
Despite becoming more and more a regular in live tournaments, Stéphane continues to go online, and you can find him regularly on the cash tables in our lobby, as well as on the forum and in the Poker770 chat.
It would be a good idea to keep an eye on this rising star of European Poker that Poker770 is proud to have on the team.
